Technology Products
Knighthawk Engineering (KHE) performs consulting, field services, and testing on a broad spectrum of engineering applications utilizing a multi-discipline integrated approach.  In addition to these services, KHE has developed and patented technology products for two very specific processes (tube and shell heat exchangers, and slag crushers).

KHE Intrabody Flow Distributor
KnightHawk has performed many failure analyses on tube and shell heat exchangers.  One common root cause has been poorly distributed flow in the inlet cone.  Poor flow distribution can lead to Erosion, Fouling (Coking) plugging the tubes prematurely, Film boiling or Blistering.  KHE has developed a proven methodology for analyzing these type problems to determine the root cause, but more importantly, KHE has developed a solution for most of these problems with an engineered product.

PE ArkansasThe Intrabody Flow Distributor is an engineered product for these types of problems in all tube and shell heat exchangers.  Through the use of proprietary methods that include the use of numerical analysis.   KHE can solve your hot end problems.  The majority of the time a custom designed IFD will solve the problem, by evenly distributing the flow across the tube sheet, eliminating most of the conditions that lead to erosion, corrosion, fouling, and film boiling.

Key Benefits
PE Maryland The IFD solves problems related to uneven flow distribution in the inlet cone.
PE Mississippi Constructed of high temperature cast alloy to survive the environment in the inlet cone.
PE Nebraska Special slip joint anchor bolt design allows for thermal growth and eliminates fatigue concerns.

Crusher for Slag
KnightHawk designs fabricates and delivers high pressure/high temperature sealed crushers for custom applications.  The key to our successful application is our approach to equipment design.  The one size fits all approach doesn't work in this arena.

For effective crusher design one must consider in detail, the material to be crushed.  It must be evaluated based on material properties including, but not necessarily limited to hardness, brittleness, moisture content, and compressibility.  To ensure that the crusher will work properly the first time,  the material must be tested in advance.  Additionally, the size of the feed and the discharge requirements must be evaluated.
